| Description | A six-button, double-breasted peacoat of a rough, thick blue woolen (synthetic?) fabric. Chief Boatswain's Mate's sleeve insignia, with red stripes, white eagle and crossed anchors. Buttons are three-piece, unmarked, U.S. Army officer's style. Label in collar says, "Famous-Barr Co.". Partial red lining. Associated with Child's sailor-style cap, Bobby Lee, but doesn't appear to match. Ex-Peter Coleman collection. Pictured in "Wee Warriors and Playtime Patriots", with the cap, p.93. Several similarities to Child's heavy chinchilla wool pea coat. |
