Name Child's three-piece military uniform, Jackie Jumper

Catalog ID HCM6363
Year circa 1941-1945
Description A child's three-piece brown military uniform, by Jackie Jumper. Uniform consists of a four-pocket jacket, riding breeches, and an overseas cap, all of a gabardine-like fabric.

Jacket has four patch pockets, the top pockets pleated, a three-button front, and two-button cuffs. The buttons are two-piece "toy" plated brass buttons with an airplane on them. There is a half-stripe at each cuff, and no epaulets. It is fully-lined in blue rayon, and has a Corps of Engineers enlisted collar disc (flat, "Neo-Type III", stamped "G23" on back) on the right lapel, and a (post-1957) Air Defense Artillery collar disc on the left. In the collar is a red-on-black woven label, "Jacke Jumper | REGISTERED | LEE-WALD GARMENT CO.".

The breeches are five-pocket, with all but the rear-right and watch pocket having small brown plastic buttons. The front pockets have triangular flaps. There is a four-button fly, and the calves have five buttons each and a green facing. The reinforced knees have been further reinforced with brown suede, at a later time. There are seven belt-loops, and eight internal buttonholes in a white cotton double-waist-band, likely for braces.

The overseas cap is well-constructed, although is poorly shaped. There is a white-on-brown embroidered wings-and-shield on the right side, and a gold tape around the flap. It has no sweat band, but has a small tag at the very back, likely for size, but now very worn. The insignia is the inverse of that on Child's U.S. Army jacket, with Pearl Harbor pin, 78th ID and Child's U.S. Army cap.

This set is much higher quality than Child's U.S. Army jacket, with Pearl Harbor pin, 78th ID, by the same manufacturer.
