Catalog ID HCM6161
Year circa 1930-1950
Description A soft blue woolen double-breasted snow suit, with military-like insignia. The coat front, collar, and epaulets are faced in pink flannel. There are yellow collar tabs, with pink piping, and matching yellow stripes with pink piping on the epaulets. On the left sleeve is a direct-embroidered set of gold wings with an American red/white/blue shield in the center. There are two belt loops. There are twelve buttons on the front, and one on each cuff, all riveted on. There is a snap at the neck. There are two slash pockets at the waist, lined in a plaid flannel. The coat is lined in white flannel.

The trousers have an elastic waistband, two plastic buttons on the left side, integrated suspenders with silver-colored buckles and lighter-blue trim, pentagonal knee reinforcements, and knitted ankle cuffs with "TALON" zippers. There is a blue-on-white tag sewn at the bottom of the left knee reinforcement: "LOT | Size 3".

Ex-Peter Coleman collection. Pictured in "Wee Warriors and Playtime Patriots", p.116, with the original belt, which was not included. The author concluded that the "insignia" were added by "someone", but I believe it was added at the time of original manufacture.
