Name US Army T/5 Signal Corps uniform, for a child, SHAEF

Catalog ID HCM6104
Year circa 1945
Description A very well made, partially lined, 1942-pattern green wool service coat and trousers, for a young child. There are three adult-size US Army brass buttons down the front, and two patch and two hidden pockets. It is partially lined in brown cotton.

Technician Fifth Grade chevrons (two green chevrons over a "T", embroidered on blue wool), appear to be cut down from adult size. There are three bullion overseas service bars at left cuff, and a woven gold-on-green Ruptured Duck over the right breast pocket. On the collar are enlisted discs, "U.S." and the crossed flags of the Signal Corps. On the left shoulder is an English-made SHAEF SSI.

There is a 3/8" ribbon rack over the left, consisting of a bar with the US Army Good Conduct Medal, the American Campaign Medal, and the European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal, with four black stars. This bar is covered in plastic, and uses clutch pins with early, non-dimpled clutches. Above this is an uncovered, pin-back World War II Victory Medal ribbon.

The nearly matching trousers are of a very similar green wool. They're partially lined in white rayon and have white cotton pocket linings. The fly buttons are brown, and the braces buttons are white.

Buttonholes on both pieces appear to be by hand.
