| Description | A khaki cotton tunic, with brown stand-up collar and brown trim. Two false-flap patch pockets at the bottom. Four Civil/Indian War style child's buttons on front, and smaller ones on epaulets and cuffs. Buttons have unmarked steel backs. Buttons on front are held on with rings, through steel eyelets. Hook and eye on the collar appears later. Integrated belt loops at back. Unmarked and unlined. Insignia is crudely hand-stitched to the bottoms of the sleeves, and consists of a blue chevron over an eagle on the left sleeve, and a blue star over a single red chevron on a green wool backing on the right sleeve. Similar to the "Dewey Suit" pictured at the top right of p.49 of "Wee Warriors and Playtime Patriots". |
