| Description |
Photo of a bare-headed, but well-uniformed young boy of around six years old, riding a rocking horse. He's holding a 2nd variation Daisy "Sentinel" BB gun, with the logo on the wooden stock. I believe this was made from 1901 until 1904. He is wearing leather boots, a buff belt, and a dark double-breasted tunic, with seven thin chevrons on his cuff, and two rows of piping on his stand-up collar.
Photo is mounted landscape on a portrait card. The card is marked, on the front: "PICKARD | 4701 FRANKFORD AVE | PHILA.", and on the back: "....PICKARD.... | 4701 FRANKFORD AVE | AND | 31st and RIDGE AVE". On back, in pencil, "862.75", and an old "1.00" price.
The proprieter of Pickard's Photo Gallery had died by June, 1905, according to the Philadelphia Enquirer. |
