Catalog ID HCM5961
Year circa 1941-1945
Description A light green wool coat, with reversed epaulets (buttons at the shoulder). Four pockets (top two are false), three-button front. No buttons on sleeves. Buttons are four-piece construction (applied eagle over lined background), full-adult-size at the front, cuff-size at the pockets and epaulets. Un-marked, pin-back major's insignia on epaulets. Early clutch-back "U.S." on both collars. Unusually-crude and thin silver pin-back pilot's wings, marked only "STERLING". Black lace halfway around each cuff.

There is a single child's USN-style button in the lower left pocket, possibly an original button from the coat, before they were replaced with Army buttons.

Coat is lined in a slightly darker shade of rayon, with white cotton sleeve linings. There is a pocket inside the right breast, with a woven label for "The Kleinhans Co. | Buffalo".
