| Description |
A photo of a boy in (likely blue) uniform, with trousers, five-button sack coat, and thick black belt with rectangular brass buckle. His trousers and cuffs have double-stripes. The buttons are similar in shape to late 19th Century Army buttons, but the design is indistinct.
Photo is pasted to a dark-colored card, with a coat of arms and "Burt. | Minneapolis." at the lower right, probably the I.E. Burt Portrait Co., "Maker of Permanent Electric Light Prints" ("Minneapolis City Directory for 1890-'91", p.277). Company was established in 1883, and were doing photography by 1890.
Lower right corner bent. Loss to upper right corner. |
