Description |
A photo of nineteen US Army soldiers, one woman, and a young boy, in front of an army tent. The boy is wearing a light-colored sailor's uniform, and is standing front and center, being held by one of the soldiers. The woman is standing in the back row. One soldier sits on the tent.
The back is a divided-back postcard, with green Washington 1-cent stamp. It is postmarked "JUL 20" in "TEXAS CITY", but the year is not visible. It is addressed to "Mr. A. Julis | Q.M. Corps | Eagle Pass, Texas." The message is not in English. Possibly Czech?
Texas City is on the Gulf of Mexico (site of the 1947 ammonium nitrate disaster). Eagle Pass was camp on the Mexican border which was used to support the efforts against Pancho Villa.
