Description |
US Army model 1860 staff officer's sword, in a child's size. Brass hilt, with faux-sharkskin grip (black-painted brass), wrapped in two-ply brass wire. Federal eagle on right-side guard, with "E PLURIBUS UNUM" banner in its beak. Small Federal eagle on right side of pommel, shield on left. Bright steel blade is 7/16" x 1/8" x 22", and is pointed, but not sharpened. Nickel-plated scabbard, with brass fittings. Upper band has two rings, and a screw (added later?) to tighten it to the scabbard. It appears to be higher on the scabbard than it used to be. Lower band has one ring, and is pinched into the scabbard.
