| Description | Partial (?) set of 10 painted wooden blocks. Except for the two triangular pieces, all pieces are stamped "HOLGATE | -- SINCE 1789 --" in an oval (approximately 1x0.5") (hlt1). A full set was 36 blocks. This set consists of the following. Only 3 shapes are not represented. Cube: 1 7/8 x 1 7/8 x 1 7/8 (red) Panel Blocks, 5/8" thick, 1 7/8" wide: 1 7/8" (yellow) 3 3/4" (green) 3 3/4" (blue) 5 5/8" (red) 9 3/8" (green) Rectangular Blocks, 1 7/8" thick, 1 7/8" wide: 5 5/8" (red) 7 1/2" (yellow) 1 7/8" thick, 1 7/8" wide triangles: (blue) (yellow) Purchased in large grouping of blocks. Believed to be among the earliest of Holgate Toys. Note the stamp does not say "Toys". |
